People today view the word "Nuclear" or "Nuclear Reactor" with a negative sense; in cartoons, childrens' books, and even adult fiction/realistic fiction, anything nuclear is viewed with caution, immenent disaster, and other such things. That is based on truth, as events like Chernobyl and Fukishima are the results of nuclear energy disasters; however, the 3 Mile Island Accident was not severe. There may be some leftover radiation there, and people remember it negatively, with even some trauma. However, that is wrong. Most of the damage was caused by poor communications between the company owning it and the government; in fact, most parts of the government agree that the TMI event was a valuable lesson in crisis control, one without the normal consequences if it actually happened, sort of like a drill, but real.
